Alliance of left-wing parties assembled by 2022 presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Alliance was purposely launched on May Day and at its inaugural consisted of just five parties; the Left Party (PG) Picardie Debout (PD), Mélenchon's La France Insoumise (LFI), Génération·s (G.s) and Europe Écologie Les Verts (EELV). Alliance hopes to attract more left-wing parties ahead of national assembly elections planned for June 12-19, 2022 and present joint candidacies. Alliance started off with 20 seats in the 570-seat Assembly and 9 in the 348-seat Senate. Alliance was dissolved on June 10, 2024
succeeded by New Popular Front (Nouveau Front Populaire, NFP) [New People's Ecologist and Social Union; Nouvelle Union Populaire écologiste et sociale (NUPES); parliamentary group is called l'Union Populaire].
