Center-left, secularist party formed after the unification and dissolution of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) and six others run collectively by six leaders. The new party was launched on April 22, 2020 with the merger of the RJP and the Socialist Party Nepal. Merged party then registered with the Nepal electoral commission on July 9, 2020. Both parties have 17 seats each in the House of Representatives. The Socialist Party has 30 seats in Province 2 assembly and leads the provincial government there while RJP has 25 seats. Party is co-chaired by Mahantha Thakur of RJP and Upendra Yadav of the Socialist Party. New party's logo combines the red star of the Socialist Party with the umbrella of the the RJP
