Description | One of six 'green' parties established in Bulgaria, three carrying identical names: The Greens (founded on May 18, 2008); Green Party in Bulgaria (founded December 28, 1989 - renamed 'Green Party' in 2009); and this 'green' party, registered as 'The Green Party' in 2001. The Green Party was created after a split during a congress held by the 'Green Party in Bulgaria' in October 2000. The individual leading the split was Hristo Portochanov, who became the new party's Chairman. After he lost interest and abandoned the party, he was replaced by Valentin Simov in 2005. Simov entered his party in the legislative elections of March 2017, taking 0.30% of the vote [partia na zelenite (PnZ)]. |
