| Description | Opposition party formed by merger of three parties in Kachin State, the Kachin Democratic Party (KDP), the Kachin State Democracy Party (KSDP), and the Unity and Democracy Party of Kachin State (UDPKS). Merged party was joined by the Union Nationalities Federal Democracy Party in December 2019. Party opposes the government policy of transferring non-Kachin peoples into the Kachin region, considering it an attempt to 'obliterate' Kachin culture. Party has been alleged to be linked to the militant Kachin Independence Army (KIA) [ကချင်ပြည်နယ်ပြည်သူ့ပါတီ]. |
