DescriptionSen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), the chairwoman of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee and a close ally of Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), announced Thursday she is not running for re-election in 2024.

The announcement is a blow to Democrats’ hopes of keeping their Senate majority in 2025 as they face a tough Senate map this cycle.

So, John James 3.0 v. Haley Stevens or Dana Nessel. I'll go slight D for now.

Political Wire was reporting that Buttigieg moved to Michigan hinting that he might be a candidate.

Although not sure he would be the strongest candidate.

I think Slotkin definitely runs. A statewide run isn't much different for her than running for re-election.

Not sure how this is good for the GOP imo. If their recruiting, as of late, is any constellation it will be another missed opportunity

BrentinCO: Political Wire was reporting that Buttigieg moved to Michigan hinting that he might be a candidate.

Buttigieg issued a statement Thursday calling Stabenow "a force in the Senate" who "fights every day to make life better for Michiganders and all Americans."

"I am fully focused on serving the president in my role as Secretary of Transportation, and not seeking any other job," Buttigieg added.
