Description | In a way, Mark Hogan has been an albatross around Gov. John A. Love's neck for the last four years, but the voters of Colo rado will settle that when they elect one of them Governor.
Mr. Hogan, a Democrat, was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1966, and Governor Love, a Republican, was elected that year to a second term. (That won't happen again because the law has been changed so that the offices will be filled by members of the same party.)
Governor Love, an active campaigner in 1968, became an important national figure in Republican affairs and could have expected an appointment to some Federal position toward the end of his second term after Republicans won the Presidency in 1968. |
