Description | TRENTON -- Sen. John Matheussen marked his final voting session Thursday, with passage of a reform plan craft for the state's beleaguered medical malpractice insurance industry.
The plan would cap some doctor liability at $300,000 in pain and suffering for non-permanent injuries, among other provisions. It passed 32 to 5.
According to GOP insiders, Matheussen stayed in the Senate to vote on the malpractice reform, which he spearheaded.
