Description | Speaker Mark Ferrandino today took advantage of the civil unions bill he helped pass, entering into a civil union with his longtime partner, Greg Wertsch.
The private ceremony was held on the west balcony of the state Capitol with State Supreme Court Justice Monica Márquez officiating.
Among the other 50 or so guests: Sen. Andy Kerr, and Sen. Pat Steadman, one of Ferrandino’s closest friends. The two Denver Democrats spent three years getting their civil unions bill passed. It was signed into law in March, and went into effect on May 1. Since then, couples have been lining up. |
