Description | Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero is focused on winning reelection as mayor and isn’t interested in running for higher office.
On a scale of 1 to 10, Bernero pegged his interest in the U.S. Senate seat opening in 2014 at 1 or 2, according to MIRS, the daily Capitol newsletter.
U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit, announced last month that he will not seek reelection to the seat he’s held since 1979, setting off a rash of “who’s in, who’s out” speculation.
Bernero is running for reelection for mayor of Lansing. |
