Description | Businessman Leland Burk will run to replace Ann Margolin on the Dallas City Council, he announced today.
Margolin, who announced last month that she will not run for a third term, is endorsing Burk. He has also received the endorsement of Mitchell Rasansky, Margolin’s predecessor on the council.
A Dallas native, Burk is a longtime resident of District 13, which includes Preston Hollow and other points north. He was a founding director of First Independent National Bank. Since 1986, he has been chairman and president of Burk Interests Inc., a real estate development and oil and gas investment company.
Rasansky and Burk were at one time in business together at First Independent, according to this 1997 Dallas Business Journal article. |
