| Description | The Star has confirmed from two sources with close ties to Mitch Daniels that the governor will become the next president of Purdue University.
Purdue's Board of Trustees is to vote on the selection Thursday.
Daniels, whose second term as governor ends in January, will succeed France Cordova as leader of the university. She intends to leave the office July 15.
The governor's office declined comment, but sources familiar with the selection confirmed that Daniels is the choice.
