| Description | After nearly five decades in office, Orange County Tax Collector Earl. K Wood told his office staff Friday that he would not seek re-election this fall.
"He was honored to have served those 48 years in office," said his attorney Steven Bechtel. "His doctors told him he could go another term, but he felt like it was time."
If he had run and won — which nearly all political observers predicted — he could have been 100 at the end of another term.
But that's not going to happen, those close to him said. |
