Description | Michele Bachmann said this afternoon she would consider appointing Republican presidential rival Rick Santorum as the nation’s top law-enforcement official if she was elected president.
She might even ask him to join her presidential ticket, if she gets the nomination.
“I have just the highest respect for Rick Santorum. He’s a very sharp guy, and I could easily see making him attorney general,” Bachmann told the Des Moines Register. “He’s very sharp on legal issues, very astute, and I would consider him for that or another cabinet position or I’d even have him on my list for vice president.
“I have very high regard for Rick Santorum,” she added. “And I’m not just saying that. I mean that.”
The two candidates are among the most socially conservative in the GOP field, and share similarly hawkish views concerning Iran and foreign policy in general. |
