An excerpt..."Despite failing to take hold for more than 120 years, the idea of extending the term length for governor, lieutenant governor and other top state officials is once again making the rounds in the State House, and legislators this week will begin taking public testimony on the subject.
The current proposed constitutional amendment, if adopted, would mark the first term extensions since 1880, when the state moved from annual elections to every other year." |
