Description | The Senate race in Louisiana, long seen as a missed opportunity for Republicans, may quickly get interesting.
Sources close to Gov. Mike Foster (R) said yesterday there's a 50-50 chance he will jump into the race against Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), who squeaked into the job six years ago and was thought to be among the most vulnerable Democratic senators this fall. The three Republicans who have challenged her so far, including Rep. John Cooksey (La.), have remained far behind in the polls. |
