Description | Robert B. Duncan, an Oregon lawmaker who served in both the state Legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives, died early this morning in Portland, surrounded by family, according to his son, Angus Duncan. He was 90.
He served three times in the Oregon House, including two stints as speaker in the 1959 and 1961 sessions. In the U.S. House, he represented the 4th district from 1963 to 1967 and then was elected again, representing the 3rd district in the Portland area from 1975 to 1981.
In 1966, he made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate, running against Republican Mark Hatfield. |
