Description | Tim Pawlenty promised a lot when he was running for governor, and during his first year in office he delivered on most of his major pledges.
The new Republican governor didn't raise taxes. He established new education standards. And in keeping his most ambiguous promise of all, he became a "change agent," proposing a host of new ideas that no one ever expected, ranging from reinstating the death penalty to reimporting cheaper prescription drugs from Canada.
