State Sen. Thomas Morahan has died at 78 after a long battle with leukemia.
Rockland Republican Chairman Vincent Reda confirmed to our Glenn Blain that Morahan passed away earlier this evening.
"He was certainly the best political guy we ever had here in Rockland County and one of the finest elected officials," said Reda, who knew Morahan for 35 years. "It is a very sad day for me."
Before being elected to the state Senate in 1999, Morahan served in the Rockland County Legislature, eventually becoming chairman of the lawmaking body. |
