Description | Former Republican candidate for governor Bob Vander Plaats said Friday that he is not yet ready to endorse primary winner Terry Branstad.
Vander Plaats, who won 41 percent of the June 8 vote, also said he would consider running as the GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, if delegates nominate him over Branstad's wishes at the party's state convention today.
And he said he has not ruled out an independent bid for governor, a change from his tone during the primary campaign, when he said he had no interest in a third-party run. |
