Description | HOUSTON, May 19— It's a United States Senator on camera, all decked out in a black leather jacket and Terminator sunglasses, striking an Arnold Schwarzenegger pose and mocking his own reputation as a stodgy Elizabethan scholar.
"Was it Shakespeare who said, 'Hasta la vista, baby?' " asks the Senator, a Senator desperately trying to hold on to his job.
In what one political consultant here cast as the political equivalent of a Hail Mary pass into the end zone, Senator Bob Krueger has unleashed a series of zany political advertisements designed to spoof his own lackluster image and raise his standing in the June 5 runoff election for the seat he was appointed to in January. |
