Description | City Council Speaker Christine Quinn dropped the other shoe yesterday on bad-mouthing Brooklyn Councilman Charles Barron.
Three weeks after beating Barron for her speaker's post by a 48-to-1 vote, Quinn engineered a 47-to-1 vote to oust Barron as chairman of the Higher Education Committee.
In both cases, the only vote Barron won was his own.
Barron, who has often clashed with Quinn and been involved in several raucous, racially-charged votes, deemed the maneuver "racist." |
