Description | U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is enlisting the help of a fellow controversial conservative female politician in her re-election bid.
Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be in Minnesota April 7 to campaign for Bachmann, the Republican congresswoman’s campaign announced Wednesday.
“There is absolutely no one more in tune with the hearts and minds of everyday Americans than Gov. Palin, and I’m excited to welcome her back to our beautiful state this spring,” Bachmann said in a statement.
A Bachmann spokesman said campaign plans are under way; no details were released.
Palin, the former Alaska governor, is campaigning for conservative candidates on the ballot this fall as political observers speculate whether she will make her own White House run in 2012. She was Sen. John McCain's running mate in 2008. She announced Wednesday she also will campaign for McCain in his home state of Arizona.
