Description | LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Republican Congressman John Boozman says he's thinking about seeking his party's nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln this fall.
Boozman said Friday he's had supporters over the past couple of weeks urge him to run and that he hoped to decide by late next week whether to join the race. Boozman, who represents the the 3rd district in northwest Arkansas, is the only Republican among the state's congressional delegation.
Nine Republicans have already announced they're seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Lincoln, a Democrat seeking a third term in the Senate.
Boozman was first elected in 2001 after Rep. Asa Hutchinson resigned to take a post in the George W. Bush administration. He's served four full terms |
