Description | The daughter of Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) was carjacked in Washington on Wednesday night, the senator's office announced Thursday.
Julia Corker, 22, was driving her Chevy Tahoe in Northwest D.C. when a carjacker grabbed her by the throat, pulled her from the SUV and drove off. Corker was not seriously injured.
Police were reportedly able to use the vehicle's OnStar navigation system to track and arrest the assailants, whom Corker positively identified.
"She is a bit sore and shaken up but doing well," Corker's office said in a statement. "Senator Corker was nearby and able to get to the scene of the incident very quickly."
Julia Corker was on her way to an apartment she shares with her father when the carjacking took place. |
