SACRAMENTO (AP) -- Herschel Rosenthal, a liberal Democrat from Los Angeles who served 24 years in the California Legislature, has died at a nursing home. He was 91.
A former aide said Rosenthal was recovering from pneumonia when he died Friday in Sacramento.
Rosenthal represented parts of the San Fernando Valley. He was first elected to the state Assembly in 1974, where he served until 1982.
