Description | Former Indiana Congressman Chris Chocola has been named the new president of the national conservative group Club for Growth.
Chocola is a Republican who represented northern Indiana's 2nd congressional district from 2003 until 2007. He took office this week and replaces Pat Toomey, who on Wednesday announced he would challenge Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter in next year's Republican primary.
The Washington-based group advocates for smaller government and lower taxes.
Chocola says the group would fight what he calls a "dangerous growth in government" in recent months. |
