Description | Former U.S. Rep. Lindy Boggs met with present and past members of Louisiana's congressonal delegation Tuesday, March 17,in Sen. Mary Landrieu's Capitol office.
Boggs represented the 2nd Congressional District of Louisiana from 1973 to 1991, and today was an opportunity for her to meet the new members of the delegation.
She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives to succeed her husband, Hale Boggs, who represented the 2nd District until his death in 1972.
Congresswoman Boggs celebrated her 93rd birthday last Friday.
The following current and former members of the delegation were in attendance at the meeting with former Rep. Boggs: Sens. Landrieu and David Vitter; Reps. Rodney Alexander, Charlie Melancon, Steve Scalise, John Fleming, Bill Cassidy and Joseph Cao; former Sens. Bennett Johnston and John Breaux; and former Reps. Jim McCrery, Billy Tauzin and Jimmy Hayes |
