Description | Joy MacPhail, who was today named leader of the BC New Democrats, is ready to take on Gordon Campbell as leader of the opposition.
"With the support of the Party and my colleague Jenny Kwan, I am pleased to take on the responsibilities of leader of the opposition," said MacPhail, MLA for Vancouver-Hastings. "British Columbians can rely on me to hold Gordon Campbell accountable."
The BC NDP Provincial Council, composed of the Party's elected executive and delegates from every constituency in the province, met by teleconference this morning to name MacPhail as leader. |
