Description | Former dictator Efrain Rios Montt's 2004 presidential campaign was dealt a decisive blow after Guatemalan voters appeared to hammer a final nail into the controversial ex-general's political career.
The former strongman, who ruled Guatemala with an iron fist between 1982 and 1983 amid a bloody civil war, was relegated to third place by two political rivals who are also chasing the presidency.
