Description | Dr. Jim Wyne, a resident of Staten Island's Todt Hill neighborhood who was recently defeated in the Republican congressional primary, today announced that he will launch a write-in candidacy to replace Rep. Vito Fossella in the House of Representatives.
Said Dr. Wyne: "I was extremely gratified to receive 41 percent of the vote in the Republican primary, especially since I was running against someone who previously held elected office for 24 years. In the past week, I have spoken to hundreds of people who have told me that they are not satisfied with the current candidates and have urged me to mount a write-in campaign. After consulting with my family and my campaign staff, I have decided to do so." |
