Ed Oakley raises serious cash despite running for nothing -- yet

| Description | Fresh of a Thursday night fund-raiser, former 2007 Dallas mayor election runner-up and ex-District 3 City Council member Ed Oakley says he raised about $30,000 at the event, which attracted about 150 people.
"We did pretty well for someone who's not still an elected official," Mr. Oakley said.
The mystery remains: Will Mr. Oakley seek his former council seat and challenge current District 3 council member Dave Neumann, a freshman? Will he run for some other office, such as state representative or Dallas County Commissioner?
Mr. Oakley is remaining mum, saying, "I'm not making any decision at this point."
But he quickly adds: "You can bet I'll be doing something." |
