Description | Now there are four, Democrats in the Attorney General primary that is.
Thursday afternoon Kansas City attorney Molly Williams filed paperwork with the Missouri Secretary of State's office to launch her campaign for Attorney General.
Williams enters a primary that already includes former Democratic House Leader Jeff Harris, Rep. Margaret Donnelly, and State Sen. Chris Koster.
Williams, a relative unknown in statewide political circles, has links to Judge Joe Dandurand from Cass County who had been tapped by Koster to fill the Senate seat he is vacating to run for AG. Dandurand was later appointed by Gov. Matt Blunt to the Court of Appeals.
In 2005, Williams participated in Dandurand's golf tournament and even played on the same team, which was strong enough to earn the low score in the match. Williams has also been active in the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City.
Given the political background of Williams and her connections to Dandurand and Koster in Kansas City, political insiders are already speculating that Williams was recruited by Koster's AG campaign.
Williams has not yet officially announced her campaign. |
