DescriptionCarl Lanke, treasurer for the South Broward Drainage District, was the presumptive winner Tuesday in Miramar's special election, edging out his nearest opponent by 13 votes.

He will replace Commissioner Fitzroy Salesman, who was suspended as he awaits trial for allegedly pulling a gun on an 18-year-old at a supermarket. Lanke's term will last, at most, until March 2009.
