Description | CHARLESTOWN — A township resident seeking to run against U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach, R-6th, for his congressional seat met with The Phoenix recently to discuss his political philosophy and goals.
Robert Roggio has lived in Charlestown with his wife, Jeannie, for 12 years, and enjoyed a successful 30-year career in business until his retirement at age 52. He decided to pursue his interest in politics, and after enrolling at Penn State University and obtaining his degree in American Studies, Roggio worked for John Kerry to aid the senator’s 2004 presidential campaign, first in Pennsylvania and then in Washington, D.C.
