Description | Raleigh | House Speaker Joe Hackney called Monday night for Rep. Thomas Wright to resign. But Wright said he would not step down and accused Hackney of acting hastily.
Also on Monday, Hackney sent a letter to the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee asking for an investigation of Wright. Details of last week's N.C. State Board of Elections hearing, which resulted in the board referring the case to the Wake County district attorney, were attached to the letter. |
