Description | Bringing dogs to bars? Whose idea was that?
"When I'm having a beer, I like seeing other people's dogs," said state Sen. Ken Jacobsen, D-Seattle, who introduced a bill allowing dog owners to bring their four-legged pals to bars. And yes, this thing is actually getting a hearing today.
We suggest Jacobsen grab a six-pack and go to a dog owner's house, because we're not interested in dealing with an indoor dog park while having a relaxing drink. Dogs might be fine in taverns, and, of course, service dogs get a pass, but that's it.
This isn't about hating dogs (which we don't). It's about realizing that dog lovers should spend quality time with their dogs outdoors or at home, just as we'd like to spend quality time with our Irish whiskey and some friends at a bar, sans dogs to which about 15 percent of the general population are allergic. |
