Description | It's the homestretch for a congressional campaign that Democratic candidate Christine Jennings started almost immediately after losing the 2004 primary to her current opponent.
But this run is different. She heads into the Sept. 5 election having raised just under $900,000 and having won the backing of Democrats in Washington, D.C., who hope to gain control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Their support has brought cash and opened doors -- U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd campaigned with Jennings Tuesday -- while her opponent, who has run twice before for the District 13 seat, struggles to garner money and party attention. |
