Description | Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez raised $2.58 million from April through June and his Republican challenger raised $1.1 million, their offices said Wednesday.
Menendez's total cash on hand is now $7.39 million, campaign spokesman Matt Miller said. The senator spent $1.58 million from April 1 to June 30. Kean's total cash on hand is $2.25 million, said campaign spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker.
Menendez raised a little more this quarter than he did in the first quarter of the year - Jan. 1 through March 30 - when he reported $2.52 million raised. At the end of that quarter, Menendez had $6.36 million cash on hand.
Kean did not raise as much in the second quarter of this year as he did during the first three months of the year, when he raised $1.6 million. At the end of the first quarter, he had $2 million cash on hand. Kean is trying to become the first Republican from New Jersey elected to the U.S. Senate since 1972. |
