DescriptionThe Russian parliament has agreed to remove the option of voting against all candidates in future elections.

Supporters of the new legislation say it will encourage greater participation in the political process.

Previously, Russians were able to tick an "against all" box to express their frustration with politicians. On average, just 4% did.

Opponents say the bill has been introduced because the Kremlin fears many would use the protest option.
