Description | It's only February. The 2006 Arizona political season is still young. But can anyone deny that state Sen. Jack Harper, R-Surprise, is running away with the Legislature's Have You No Sense of Decency Award?
First there was that strange kerfuffle late last year when Harper went a'barging into the Maricopa County Treasurer's Office waving grammatically suspect "motions," demanding access to some sealed ballots from the 2004 elections and scaring the bejeebers out of the treasurer's staff.
More recently, Harper has begun refining the art of creeping out political friend and foe alike. It is one thing to criticize a political opponent's personal foibles. It is quite another matter to use a candidate's family against him. Such behavior is not merely flaky. It is contemptible. |
