Bill Scranton fires manager for calling Swann 'rich white guy'

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Bill Scranton fired the manager of his gubernatorial campaign because of racially charged remarks he made about Lynn Swann, Scranton's opponent for the Republican nomination, during a televised call-in show Wednesday night.
James Seif said "the rich white guy in this campaign is Lynn Swann."
Swann, the former Pittsburgh Steeler star, is seeking to become Pennsylvania's first black governor. Scranton comes from a wealthy family and is white. |
