Description | After serving two decades as a Longwood congressman, Bill McCollum's political trajectory has gone off course the past few years. But Florida Republicans may be ready for his re-entry.
Vantage Point Strategies, a Tallahassee consulting firm, pointed out to voters in a telephone survey that McCollum lost U.S. Senate bids in 2000 and 2004 and is now running for state attorney general.
Bluntly, voters were asked, should he run again? It's a question that's lingered over McCollum's candidacy since he joined the race in October.
The poll of 330 Republican likely voters found that 40 percent think McCollum deserves another chance to win, while 37 percent said it's time for a new Republican face. Twenty-three percent were unsure. |
