Description | Veteran city councillor Sam Sullivan has won a tight race to become Vancouver's mayor, as communities across British Columbia held municipal elections.
Sullivan, of the Non-Partisan Association slate, was declared winner shortly after 10 p.m. PST on Saturday with 141 of the 142 polls reported in.
Sam Sullivan has served on Vancouver's city council for 12 years.
By then, he had captured 61,341 votes, compared to the 57,123 held by his chief competitor, Jim Green of the Vision Vancouver slate. |
