Description | Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Fisher slashed his television advertising in Philadelphia yesterday, a probable signal that his fund-raising is falling off and that he intends to save his money for commercials in areas of the state where he has a better chance of cutting into Democrat Ed Rendell's lead in the polls.
Despite having spent several million dollars since August for TV ads aimed at voters in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Fisher still finds himself trailing by double-digit margins in voter surveys. He narrowed the gap for a time last month, but a recent barrage of negative ads directed at Rendell appeared to strengthen the former Philadelphia mayor. |
