Description | While addressing a group of leaders at the Nashville Convention Center, Mayor Purcell said now is the time to change the Metro Charter, making it clear that Nashville Mayors should serve only two terms.
It was an annual conference celebrating safe neighborhoods, where Purcell felt enough at home to announce that he would not seek re-election.
Purcell says he made the decision earlier this week, from a personal and political conviction he wants to establish for future Mayors of Music City.
“I think two terms keeps people focused, keeps the people that work with them focused and gives them the reality and the belief that they must and can finish in those two terms,” said Purcell. |
