Description | WILL COUNTY - Senate Republican Leader Frank Watson (R-Greenville) is going to have trouble fielding a squad for the annual legislative softball game next year at the rate at which his colleagues are leaving the General Assembly.
Today, State Senator Ed Petka (R-Plainfield) became the seventh Republican senator to announce his retirement from the State Senate. Petka joins Sen. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) and Sen. Steve Rauschenberger (R-Elgin) as another departing legislator giving up his seat to seek higher office. Roskam and Rauschenberger are running for Congress and Governor respectively.
“I have had a good run but it’s time for me to chart a course in a different direction,” said Petka in a released statement. “I plan to run for judge in Will County.” |
