DescriptionSPRINGFIELD (AP) - Former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar, a wild card in an already crowded pack of Republicans seeking to unseat Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, says he might not decide until the end of the year whether to seek his old job.

Edgar, vacationing with his family in Colorado, said he's considering a bid for a third term because of encouragement from supporters but might not make a decision until the December filing deadline for the March primary, The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reported.

"From a personal point of view, this is not something I was looking at," Edgar told the newspaper Monday. "I've got folks coming to me and, out of courtesy, I said I would consider it but that I wasn't going to rush into making a decision."

"I told them when I got back at the end of the summer I'd think about it. ... I would think if I was going to get into it, I would make a decision before December," Edgar said.
