Description | NEW ORLEANS -- A new consulting firm report shows fewer than half of the criminal suspects referred to the Orleans Parish district attorney are ever convicted.
The report blames a high attorney turnover and a lack of overall strategy.
The report comes after District Attorney Eddie Jordan unveiled his new COMSTAT program, a joint computer system that allows police and prosecutors to track individual cases from the moment of arrest through trial.
Jordan has not yet commented on the report. |
