Description | The recount of the disputed Jefferson County state Senate seat doesn’t get under way until Friday. But the Missouri Republican Party already is challenging the process.
At issue is Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s decision to conduct a hand recount of roughly 23,000 votes cast last month in the four-way special election that Republican Bill Alter won by 68 votes, edging out Democrat Rick Johnson. Johnson requested the recount, citing state law. |
