Description | You didn't really think they were giving up that easily, did you?
One day after Cicero Town President Ramiro Gonzalez conceded defeat in his re-election bid, the hand-picked successor to Betty Loren-Maltese reversed himself Wednesday and announced he will seek a recount.
"We feel that it is close enough where it could go the other way," spokesman Omar Duque said. "And we want to make sure that the final results of this election are true and accurate."
Gonzalez's reversal comes as challenger Larry Dominick privately basked in his 157-vote victory, began to work on assembling a transition team and prepared to take over the scandal-plagued near west suburb.
